The tone is playful rather than relentlessly grim, with room for strange detours such as goblin celebrations alongside serious tactical challenges.

Players travel across each region in real time, uncovering lore, merchants, events, recruits, and opportunities to improve a growing card collection. Combat shifts onto small arena maps where movement, facing, hazards, and interactive scenery matter as much as the spells in hand; enemies can be hurled into spikes, equipment can be claimed mid-match, and terrain can become a weapon or even a new ally. Its best idea is the way card-game flexibility meets miniature-style positioning, making a clever shove or environmental play feel as valuable as drawing a rare spell. Twenty distinct Summoners, more than 50 potential companions, five themed worlds, and hundreds of cards give runs plenty of room for experimentation. A separate PvE Battle Mode lets players assemble a constructed deck from unlocked cards and bring two allies into tougher standalone encounters, offering a more focused test of team synergy.
