The sequel keeps the series’ wisecracking survivor at the center, but gives him a much better reason to care about the journey: Buddy, a loyal dog who becomes both companion and weapon against the zombie masses. Its tone is gleefully crude rather than relentlessly grim, balancing panicked survival with one-liners, absurd situations, and the satisfaction of turning a close encounter into a very messy problem. The result feels like a B-movie zombie adventure built specifically to show off the physicality of virtual reality.

A story-driven campaign supports two-player co-op, while Horde mode lets up to four players survive escalating waves across dedicated maps.

What separates Arizona Sunshine 2 from many VR shooters is its commitment to tactile gore: zombies react to hits with gruesome, detailed dismemberment that makes every weapon feel distinct. The sunlit Arizona setting also stands apart from the usual dim corridors of horror games, creating open, colorful spaces where danger is often visible before it is safely manageable. Its locomotion and comfort options make it approachable for VR players with different tolerance levels, though the action still favors people comfortable with frantic close-range encounters.
