Rain lashes a bleak blue planet where freedom is not a dream so much as an expensive exit ticket. Blue Drifter is a short, experimental first-person bounty-hunting game built around loneliness, wet concrete, and the hum of a flying car crossing empty industrial terrain. You play a hunter working through a small list of criminals, hoping each completed job brings enough money to leave this hostile world behind. Each contract sends you into the open planet surface with three essential tools: a scanner for locating targets, a gun for ending confrontations, and a hovering vehicle for covering ground quickly. The loop is simple but purposeful: roam through the rain, narrow down a criminal’s position, approach the target, and collect the reward needed for your eventual escape. Combat is direct FPS gunplay, while the vehicle turns the sparse landscape into part of the experience instead of merely a menu between missions. There is little padding, extensive progression, or drawn-out campaign structure; the entire journey lasts roughly 10 to 20 minutes, making it better suited to a focused single sitting than a long-term sandbox commitment.

What separates Blue Drifter from conventional bounty-hunter shooters is its willingness to prioritize atmosphere over complexity. Its intense blue color palette, rough-edged visuals, and open-ended wandering evoke the lonely mood of a miniature cyberpunk road trip, with traces of lo-fi sci-fi games and experimental walking simulators underneath the shooting. The planet feels miserable by design, and that bleakness gives the final goal of escape more weight than a larger game might manage.
