Its comic-book tone stays playful rather than grim, mixing broad humor with a straightforward save-the-town storyline. The result feels built for younger DC fans, while still offering enough collectible hunting and combat variety to keep a co-op partner involved.

Players freely switch between the three heroes while roaming an open version of Happy Harbor, taking on story missions, optional objectives, villain bounties, and hidden secrets. Each hero moves differently: Superman takes to the air, Wonder Woman uses aerial traversal and her lasso, and Batman relies on gadgets and more grounded mobility. Combat is accessible, based around melee strikes, dodges, special moves, and unlockable elemental abilities, with signature attacks such as Heat Vision, Truth’s Pull, and explosive Batarangs adding personality to each fighter. Armor upgrades and new powers provide a simple sense of progression, while the Instant Action mode supports two-player local co-op for tackling missions or causing trouble around town together.

Its biggest strength is the chance to play iconic heroes without turning the experience into an overly complicated superhero simulator. Happy Harbor is compact rather than massive, but it rewards curiosity with side content and keeps the pace moving between fights, traversal, and light mystery-solving.
