Its most distinctive strength is the contrast between its deliberate armour-breaking combat system and its old-school need for speed; every encounter asks for quick target assessment without slowing the action down. Organic armaments and the sentient companion weapon Bella give the loadout a personality beyond standard sci-fi firearms, while the living ship provides a memorable backdrop for exploration and secrets. Players who enjoy Doom, Quake, or modern retro shooters but want a more tactical weapon-combo system should find plenty to like, and newcomers can adapt as long as they are willing to keep moving and learn what each damage type accomplishes.
