A grazing horse, a grain of sand, a mountain, and a distant galaxy all occupy the same strange playground, and each can become your next avatar. Everything is an experimental adventure with no enemies to defeat, quests to clear, or conventional win condition; its pleasure comes from curiosity and the gradual realization that every object belongs to a much larger system. The tone is peaceful, funny, and quietly philosophical, balancing deliberately awkward animal movement with cosmic ideas about connection, change, and perspective. Rather than telling a fixed story, it lets its universe speak through observation, discovery, and Alan Watts recordings.

Play begins by moving through a landscape as one creature or object, then taking control of another nearby thing and continuing from its point of view. Groups of animals, rocks, plants, buildings, microscopic life, planets, and celestial bodies can be gathered, danced with, and used to reach new scales of existence, shifting from the tiny to the astronomical. Progress comes from learning how objects relate to one another: certain encounters unlock transformations, while travelling through habitats reveals ecosystems and surprising chains of cause and effect. There is no pressure to optimize a route, and players can simply stop controlling anything and let the simulation run on its own in an endless, self-directed documentary mode.

David OReilly’s unusual visual language makes the world feel intentionally artificial yet oddly alive, with simple models producing memorable moments of absurdity and beauty. Autonomous creatures and objects continue behaving without the player, giving the universe a sense of motion even when you are only watching. Ben Lukas Boysen’s spacious score and the reflective narration turn wandering into something closer to a playable meditation than a standard adventure. Fans of Proteus, Mountain, or games that prioritize atmosphere over challenge find plenty to enjoy, while anyone expecting puzzles, action, or a clear narrative goal should know that Everything is designed as a contemplative toybox first.
