Daily play revolves around laying out an efficient facility, balancing space, power, security, staff welfare, production, and research. Laboratories develop pathogens and cures, while bedrooms, mess halls, offices, generators, factories, and other support rooms keep the operation functioning as it grows. Employees can be hired for specialized work and eventually trained into roles such as scientists, engineers, and keepers, giving the workforce more depth than simple resource counters. Research unlocks new technologies, improvements, buildings, staff upgrades, and ingredients for disease design, while each outbreak becomes a calculated test of how much profit can be extracted before the situation changes.

Disease creation provides the game’s strongest hook, offering dozens of selectable traits across pathogen types, transmission methods, symptoms, and additional effects. Those choices shape whether an illness spreads quickly, becomes lethal, resists treatment, or serves as leverage against governments willing to pay for silence. Six available locations give campaigns different settings for testing a preferred strategy, and stronger diseases open the door to extortion without necessarily releasing them. Players who enjoy the construction loops of Prison Architect or the escalating research trees of classic tycoon sims should find plenty to like, especially if they appreciate morally dubious sandbox play.
