Fraymakers (v0.9.0 & ALL DLC)

Indie mascots trade blows in a fast, technical platform fighter built around movement, edge-guarding, and explosive recoveries. Fraymakers brings characters from games such as Rivals of Aether, Slap City, and Freedom Planet into a colorful crossover brawler that favors precise inputs without shutting out casual players. Matches feel energetic and readable, with familiar percentage-based knockback replacing traditional health bars and every stage demanding awareness of platforms, ledges, and offstage danger. The mood is competitive but playful, equally suited to loud couch sessions and serious one-on-one sets.

Combat revolves around building damage, launching opponents farther from the arena, and finishing stocks with smart positioning rather than button mashing. Every fighter carries a complete platform-fighting toolkit, including directional attacks, aerials, throws, shielding, dodging, grabs, recoveries, and character-specific tricks that reward practice. Before each match, players also select assists: recognizable indie guests that can fire projectiles, disrupt an enemy, grant a useful buff, or create an opening for a decisive hit. Up to four players can battle at once, while rollback netcode aims to keep online matches responsive enough for tight reactions, combos, and competitive play.

Its strongest feature is how much room it gives the community to reshape the roster and rule set. Fraymakers includes tools for custom fighters, stages, modes, assists, and other additions, making it more of a long-term platform-fighter sandbox than a fixed crossover package. The visual presentation is crisp and cartoon-like, but the underlying mechanics have more in common with the demanding movement and punish game of Super Smash Bros. Melee or Rivals of Aether than a simple party brawler. Newcomers can enjoy quick matches without mastering every advanced option, while veterans who want rollback play, expressive characters, and an expanding mod scene find the deeper reason to stay.
