A cursed sleep throws the balance of a fantasy realm into chaos, leaving Keeper Hald to pursue the sorcerer Claos and save his sister Hania. Inexistence Rebirth is a 2D action-adventure built in the classic Metroidvania mold, pairing interconnected regions with an earnest high-fantasy story and colorful 16-bit-inspired pixel art. Its mood shifts between lonely ruins, dangerous caverns, and lively settlements, but combat remains the constant pressure driving every expedition. The Rebirth edition greatly expands the original release, making it feel like a fuller and more polished journey rather than a minor revision.

Hald travels across a large map, battling monsters, searching for secrets, speaking with NPCs, and gradually gaining the tools needed to access previously unreachable paths. Sword-focused action requires players to read enemy patterns, avoid attacks, and make room for special abilities, while bosses demand more careful timing and a better grasp of the character’s build. RPG systems let players improve attributes, equip gear, and choose battle skills that suit a preferred approach, whether that means more survivability, stronger offense, or useful combat options. A proper minimap makes backtracking less frustrating, and optional quests, hidden areas, difficulty settings, and extra modes give completion-minded players plenty to chase after the main conflict ends.

The redesigned stages and enlarged enemy roster keep the adventure moving through distinct environments instead of relying on a single repetitive dungeon theme. Its visual style recalls SNES-era action RPGs, while the structure will feel familiar to fans of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night or modern indie Metroidvanias.
