Ittle Dew 2+

A shipwreck strands the irrepressible Ittle and her reluctant fox companion Tippsie on an island where every route seems to lead to treasure, monsters, or an oddly specific joke. Ittle Dew 2+ is a bright, comedic action-adventure that takes the structure of classic top-down dungeon crawlers and gives it a freewheeling, playful 3D presentation. The pair’s goal is wonderfully small-scale: steal enough pieces to rebuild a raft and leave, even if that means raiding galleries, grasslands, beaches, and a stranger’s basement. Its cheerful cartoon look hides a world built around clever detours and surprisingly demanding challenges.

Combat and puzzle solving revolve around four multipurpose weapons, with each tool serving as both an attack and a way to manipulate the environment. A fire sword can clear hazards, a wand can move objects and projectiles, and other finds continually recontextualize earlier obstacles, letting players open shortcuts or reach hidden rewards. Most of the main dungeons are available in any order, so progression feels self-directed rather than strictly linear; if one area proves difficult, it is often possible to hunt upgrades, secrets, or another dungeon instead. Duplicate weapons increase their power, while equipment upgrades add light RPG progression without burying the adventure beneath stat management, and warp points make backtracking painless.

Its strongest feature is how much flexibility it finds within a compact Zelda-like formula. Dungeons reward observation and experimentation, including alternate answers to many locked doors, while Secret Shards unlock tougher optional trials for players who want more than the main route. The expanded Ittle Dew 2+ edition also includes additional Dream World content, giving veterans more puzzles and combat encounters beyond the core island. Fans of The Legend of Zelda’s item-driven exploration, especially players who appreciate a sillier tone and less hand-holding, find plenty to enjoy here; newcomers can also ease in thanks to the approachable controls and open dungeon order.
