When local smith Dojima falls behind on what he owes, his daughter becomes collateral, leaving you to earn enough money to set things right. The mood mixes serious stakes with the eccentric personalities and dry humor longtime Way of the Samurai players expect.

Days are spent in town, where you sell loot, commission or forge weapons, talk to residents, and decide how closely to work with Rokkotsu Pass’s competing power groups. Nights send you beneath Ipponmatsu Cave, a shifting dungeon full of bandits, monsters, traps, materials, and increasingly valuable rewards. Combat is fast, deliberate hack-and-slash fighting: equip one or two swords, manage weapon condition, learn moves, and select from nine combat styles to fit your preferred rhythm. More than 100 weapons give the loot chase real variety, while randomly arranged dungeon layouts and the risk of losing valuable gear make every expedition feel tense. Online co-op lets other players join cave runs, adding welcome support when the enemies and hazards start piling up.

What separates Katana Kami from most loot-heavy dungeon crawlers is its attention to the life surrounding each run. Crafting is not an optional side activity but the engine of your survival, and faction choices can reshape local relationships and the fate of the town.
