Kingdom of Arcana

A fractured medieval realm becomes the stage for a fast-moving action RPG built around spellcraft, martial combat, and a personal magical rivalry. Kingdom of Arcana casts you as Levi, a mage who grows up alongside the tyrant Aurelius before becoming the one figure capable of opposing him. Aurelius bends the rulers and armies of five kingdoms to his will, turning each land into hostile territory guarded by enchanted soldiers and corrupted nobility. The mood leans toward classic fantasy adventure, but its roguelite structure gives the campaign a combat-first edge rather than treating the story as a passive backdrop.

Levi fights at close range with magic-charged punches and kicks, then supplements those attacks with an expanding selection of spells. Each run through the kingdom’s levels revolves around clearing enemies, navigating dangerous terrain and traps, locating treasure chests, and preparing for encounters with powerful rulers. Victories provide gold for unlocking additional magic, allowing Levi to grow from an initial set of three spells toward a broader arsenal of more than 20 options. Consumable potions add another layer of decision-making, with healing, mana restoration, defensive boosts, and other temporary advantages helping players survive difficult stretches and boss battles.

The campaign offers 50 levels spread across five distinct realms, with 30 locations and 20 bosses providing a fairly substantial sequence of fights. Rather than focusing on deep party management or turn-based tactics, it keeps attention on direct third-person movement, timing, and selecting the right spell for the immediate threat. The appeal comes from pushing through varied fantasy environments while steadily widening Levi’s combat toolkit and dismantling Aurelius’s control kingdom by kingdom. Players who enjoy indie action RPGs with straightforward progression, boss-focused challenges, and a dash of roguelite replayability should find plenty to like, especially if games such as Hades or action-heavy fantasy adventures appeal more than slower, dialogue-driven RPGs.
