A missing diner regular turns an ordinary night shift into a grim psychological nightmare, with waitress Elena drawn into a reality that no longer follows familiar rules. Lurking Danger builds its horror around distorted spaces, ominous visions, and the fear that something is always waiting just beyond the next corridor. Elena and her coworker Regina pursue clues surrounding Emily’s disappearance, only to find the investigation leading through grotesque environments and toward a buried truth. The mood is oppressive rather than action-heavy, leaning on uncertainty, vulnerability, and the constant pressure of being hunted.

Survival means searching every unsettling room for useful items, examining the environment for clues, and solving puzzles that open the path forward. Resources are limited, so careless play can leave you exposed when hostile creatures emerge and escape becomes more important than confrontation. Conversations and interactions with supporting characters also carry weight, giving the story a choice-driven edge and encouraging players to pay attention to details that may alter how events unfold. The full campaign supports solo play as well as local split-screen co-op, allowing two players to investigate and survive together; however, co-op requires two controllers, as it does not support a shared mouse-and-keyboard setup.

Its strongest idea is the two-character co-op format within a focused survival-horror story, where communication can make puzzle-solving and panic-driven escapes far more memorable. Familiar locations becoming warped and hostile gives the game a Silent Hill-like psychological flavor, while its environmental puzzles keep the tension from relying solely on monster encounters. Players who enjoy slower, narrative-led horror with scarce supplies and creepy exploration should find plenty to like, especially with a friend beside them. Veterans of survival horror will appreciate the bleak atmosphere and pressure, while newcomers can approach it through co-op and share the burden of its more stressful moments.
