A Kafkaesque nightmare becomes an inventive first-person puzzle adventure when Gregor Samsa wakes up trapped in the body of a tiny insect. His friend Josef is arrested under mysterious circumstances, and the search for answers sends Gregor through a grim, distorted version of early-20th-century Europe. Ordinary apartments, offices, and streets become towering labyrinths viewed from an unsettling bug’s-eye perspective. The campaign moves through distinct chapters filled with strange characters, bureaucratic obstacles, and visual nods to Franz Kafka’s work, while the story gradually reveals why Josef’s fate matters. Controls are straightforward, though platforming sections can demand patience when judging jumps and narrow surfaces from a first-person camera.

Its greatest strength is scale: familiar domestic spaces become surreal obstacle courses, and the visual design makes every room feel both recognisable and alien. The narrative does not simply retell Kafka’s famous novella, instead building a separate mystery around its central transformation and the oppressive systems surrounding Gregor. Expect a focused, story-led experience rather than a sprawling sandbox, with puzzles and exploration carrying more weight than action. Players who enjoy the atmospheric problem-solving of Little Nightmares, the bizarre perspective shifts of Grounded, or literary games with a strong surreal edge will find plenty to appreciate, while newcomers to Kafka can still follow the personal stakes without prior knowledge.
