An abandoned coastal mansion becomes a personal prison in this first-person psychological horror tale. Pineview Drive follows a man returning to the estate where his wife Linda vanished two decades earlier, determined to find answers after years of obsession and unanswered questions. The mood favors lingering unease over constant action: dark corridors, locked rooms, distant noises, and the suspicion that the house reacts to every nervous decision. Its central challenge is simple but oppressive—survive thirty in-game days inside a place that has supposedly broken everyone who tries.

Exploration drives the experience, with players searching the mansion and its grounds for keys, clues, documents, and objects that open deeper sections of the property. There is no combat safety net, so progress depends on careful navigation, remembering where obstacles lie, and managing tension when the environment begins producing scares. A fear-sensitive health system makes panic part of the design; reacting badly to threats can cost health, encouraging a measured pace even as the game tries to unsettle you. Each day grants access to further mysteries, giving the investigation a gradual structure rather than dropping the entire estate open at once.

Pineview Drive stands out through its attempt to make the player’s own behavior part of the horror, supported by deliberately intrusive sound design and a mansion built for backtracking and dread. It is closer to a haunted-house walking horror experience than a survival-horror shooter, sharing some of the vulnerable atmosphere found in titles like Amnesia while placing more emphasis on its day-by-day premise. Extra modes offer a daytime tour of the mansion and a collectible-focused Scarecrow challenge, adding alternatives beyond the main story. Horror fans who enjoy slow-burn scares, exploration, and being left defenseless will find its strongest moments effective, while players expecting complex puzzles, combat, or subtle restraint may find its shock-driven approach less appealing.
