Prototype 2 (Radnet Edition)

New York Zero becomes a quarantined nightmare where infected streets, militarized checkpoints, and ruined neighborhoods serve as a playground for spectacular revenge. Prototype 2: Radnet Edition casts you as Sergeant James Heller, a grieving soldier transformed by the Blacklight virus and determined to kill Alex Mercer, the former hero of the first game. Its mood is unapologetically grim, but the action is gleefully excessive: tanks are torn apart, helicopters are dragged from the sky, and entire squads disappear beneath a barrage of mutated limbs. Rather than surviving the outbreak, Heller becomes its most dangerous weapon.

Movement and destruction drive the experience. Heller sprints up skyscrapers, glides across districts, hijacks vehicles, infiltrates restricted facilities in disguise, and consumes civilians or soldiers to steal identities, memories, and useful intel. Combat lets you swap between brutal biological weapons such as claws, whipfists, hammerfists, blades, and tendrils, then combine them with defensive armor, ranged attacks, and devastating special moves. Missions usually send you after a high-value target, a hostile base, or an outbreak threat, while side activities and collectibles feed upgrades that expand Heller’s mobility, health, attacks, and ability to command infected creatures.

What separates Prototype 2 from most open-world action games is its sense of unchecked physical power. The city is divided into visually distinct zones, ranging from comparatively secure urban areas to devastated infection-ridden wastelands, giving the campaign a stronger escalating structure than a simple sandbox rampage. Radnet Edition content adds optional challenges and event-style objectives that test combat efficiency, movement, and destructive creativity beyond the main story.
