RWBY: Arrowfell slots into the series’ Volume 7 storyline, pairing an original, show-authored mystery with new animated scenes, familiar allies, and a fresh Huntress squad called Team BRIR. The mood balances Saturday-morning heroics with the mounting tension of a kingdom under pressure from Grimm and human enemies alike. It is a compact, story-led side-scroller rather than an open-world epic, but it makes strong use of the team’s distinct personalities and powers.

Players freely swap between Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang at nearly any point, turning each heroine’s weapon and Semblance into both a combat tool and an exploration key. Ruby’s speed helps cross dangerous gaps, Weiss brings platform-making glyphs, Blake can create a useful clone, and Yang breaks through obstacles with raw force. Stages combine straightforward enemy brawls, light environmental puzzles, hidden routes, collectible Skill Points, and occasional large boss encounters that demand attention to movement and timing. Skill Points improve the squad’s stats, while revisiting areas with newly useful abilities encourages some backtracking through Atlas, Mantle, and the surrounding wilderness.

Developer WayForward gives the adventure a colorful pixel-art presentation that suits the animated source material without trying to duplicate its full 3D look. Character switching is the central attraction: instead of choosing a favorite fighter and sticking with them, success regularly comes from recognizing which member solves the immediate combat or platforming problem. The campaign also benefits from its canonical framing, with appearances from Penny, Winter, Ironwood, and the Ace Operatives making it more rewarding for viewers invested in the show. Fans of RWBY and accessible action-platformers such as Shantae will find the most to enjoy here, while genre veterans should expect a polished but relatively forgiving adventure rather than a punishing metroidvania.
