Its low-poly visuals give every scene a handmade, storybook quality, but the mood stays unsettling rather than cozy. There is little need for dialogue when the lonely imagery and tense soundscape make Selma’s vulnerability so clear.

What makes the adventure memorable is how naturally its mechanics support its theme: Selma is helpless alone, while the light cannot meaningfully advance without someone to guide. The stylized geometry and expressive animation create striking scenes without chasing realism, giving the game a visual identity closer to an interactive dark fable than a conventional side-scroller. Its puzzles are generally logical, though later sections can demand patience when the solution depends on precise positioning or reading the environment.
