Atlantic Island Park turns a place built for laughter into a rotting maze of broken rides, empty midway lights, and memories that refuse to stay buried. The Park is a compact first-person psychological horror story following Lorraine, a distressed mother searching for her missing son, Callum, after an ordinary outing becomes a nighttime nightmare. Rather than relying on constant jump scares, it builds dread through isolation, unstable narration, and the uncomfortable sense that the park knows far more about its visitors than it should. The tone is bleak, intimate, and deliberately unsettling, with grief and guilt carrying as much weight as the supernatural threats.

Gameplay centers on walking through the abandoned park, examining objects, reading notes, and following Lorraine’s increasingly fractured perspective as she hunts for clues. There is no combat system and no inventory-heavy survival loop; progress comes from exploring attractions, solving light environmental obstacles, and triggering story scenes that reveal what happened to Callum and to the park itself. Rides such as the roller coaster, funhouse, and carousel become set pieces rather than simple scenery, often turning familiar amusement-park imagery into something hostile. Its one-to-two-hour length keeps the pacing focused, though the slow movement speed and limited interactivity make it feel closer to an interactive horror novella than a traditional action game.

What makes The Park effective is its commitment to a personal horror story instead of a broad monster hunt. The decaying attractions have a grimy, rain-soaked visual identity, while scattered details reward players who pay attention to the park’s history and Lorraine’s unreliable recollections. It also shares lore with Funcom’s The Secret World, although no knowledge of that universe is required to follow the main plot. Fans of SOMA, Layers of Fear, or other narrative-driven walking horrors will find a short, emotionally heavy experience here; players wanting combat, complex puzzles, or extensive replay value may find it too slight.
